CareerMap™
Developed in collaboration with Air Force Research Laboratory,
CareerMap is used by the military and corporations to match
mission and job requirements with individual historical job and
training data. It is also used to restructure occupations based on core
competencies and to help identify individuals most qualified for these
occupations.
Training courses can be combined based on conceptual overlap. Candidates
for various positions can be assigned just the right training to
maximally enhance their value to the organization. The system is equally
appropriate for a military commander or corporate director assembling a
high performance team. CareerMap uses the KAT™ engine to read and
understand thousands of personnel records, greatly outperforming
keyword-matching methods. Its graphical interface shows similarly
trained individuals in a rotating color 3D space with similarly trained
individuals as neighboring points.
Auto-autodidact (A2D)
Auto-autodidact (autodidact: a self-taught person) is an intelligently
mentored online
collaborative learning environment that capitalizes on the motivational
power of peer interaction, the instant availability of enormous textual
resources, and the possibility of sharing individual knowledge. A2D
affords users enhanced interactivity with content and with other users
as well as embedded free text assessment and diagnostics. A2D enhances
traditional online repositories of content and provides continuous
embedded assessment, tutorial dialogue, and meaning-based information
insertion. It can include packaging of content to industry standards,
and provide automated content-tagged learning objects with SCORM
conformance.
A2D combines the Internet, electronic libraries, and the KAT engine to
produce an independent learning and problem-solving environment for
individuals and groups. Using the KAT engine, Auto-autodidact
first learns the vocabulary and concepts of a topic
by automatic training on textbooks. Then, as students study and write,
and groups discuss and plan, it will continuously evaluate what they
know and don't, find relevant information anywhere in an electronic
library, and connect participants with complementary needs and knowledge.
